Responsibilities:
? Redesigned all catalogs for a cleaner, easier-to-read style, thereby creating a brand identity for each piece.
? Oversaw design and production of Carolina?s main publication?the Carolina Science & Math catalog, and additional 8-10 smaller catalogs per year.
? Coordinated product photography, design and supervised photo shoots.
? Supervise 3 designers who work on more than 2,000 catalog pages each year.
? Designed advertising, trade show graphics, marketing pieces and graphics for boxes, bags, and proprietary products.

Responsibilities:
? Conceived, designed and developed the overall tone and style of Today in the Triad as well as assisted in the editorial decisions.
? Designed and developed the look of Passport to Universal Studios Escape.
? Designed and produced each entire magazine, from conception of editorial coverage to print production. Magazines had different deadline schedules, printers and prep houses, which required exceptional organization skills and adherence to deadlines.
? Commissioned original artwork, including illustration and photography, directed photo shoots in studio and on location, still life and live action.
? Worked closely with production to design monthly road maps, transmit all pages to printer, proof all prep and printer files, deal directly with prep and printer to make changes and corrections to ensure our deadlines were met.
? Set editorial deadlines for copy and photography based on print cycles.

Compute Magazine 1989?1992: Designer
After being hired as a features designer for Compute, General Media consolidated operations and relocated to Greensboro, where the position was transferred to OMNI magazine. Initially, the position required extensive travel to and from New York in order to work closely with General Media?s creative director, who oversaw operations on all of General Media?s magazines, including Compute, Longevity, OMNI, and Penthouse. A major learning experience?personally and professionally.
Responsibilities:
? Worked under strict deadline, commissioned original art and worked with artists or photographers.
? Designed and produced regular columns, selected artwork to illustrate stories, marked color breaks and produced layouts on the board.
? Executed feature articles and columns from conception to print.
? Created original designs, from simple galleys to actual hands-on layout, both on the computer and on the board, choosing color breaks and marking boards for color.
