Bio

Albanian-born Bela Shehu, the creative force behind Commonwealth Proper, Aman Athwal, Zahra Saeed, etc. counts on
her powerful intuition and natural eye for forecasting trends when crafting her creations
for the brands.
Prior to taking the reins as senior designer for Commonwealth Proper, as well as designing and developing for a few other amazing labels, Shehu indulged her passion for clothing and accessories by creating a line of jewelry, ?Agony by Bela Shehu,? which caught the eye of Lucky magazine editors and was featured in an eight-page spread in November 2006. Before the jewelry line, she designed a line of women?s clothing,
bShehu, sold at her store of the same name in Philadelphia for four years. In 2008, she
designed and launched Zahra Saeed, a contemporary
women?s clothing line, that is now sold in over 50 stores as well as in the flagship
boutiques on Walnut Street, Philadelphia, as well as Connecticut.
