Over 30 YEARS of Applied Experience

As a Graphic Designer:

I have a strong background in product packaging, product support collateral, corporate identity, unique logo design, business cards, signage and outdoor advertising, letterheads, packaging, brochures, sales literature, point-of-purchase displays and annual reports.
I have over 25 years of experience working in the advertising, print and pre-press industries, including extensive personal experience in digital trapping, digital photo retouching manipulation, photo color balancing and construction and preparation of digital artwork for high-end output. I can develop and execute the overall art direction and visual design of any project including effective copywriting and slogan development.

As a Professional Illustrator:
I have been generating illustrations of plants, still-life, technical subjects, landscapes, foods, portraiture, animals, cartoon characters, and other subject matter - all of exceptional
quality for over 25 years.

I often do extensive research to achieve historical and botanical accuracy.I have generated hundreds of finished color and monochromatic illustrations utilizing both traditional and digital
illustrative techniques for various national food clients for use on food packaging and publication in national magazines for food product promotion. I am a highly proficient in the use of the airbrush and knowledgable in all airbrushing techniques, from freehand application, photo retouching, and even gigantic murals and theater backdrops in acrylic.

I have over 30 years of experience executing fine art illustrations in oil, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, pastels, graphite, or pen and ink. I have 18 years of experience creating high-end digital illustrations of any subject in Photoshop, using Photoshop solely or in concert with scanned hand-sketches, 3D software suites, and Adobe Illustrator.

Over the years, I have had illustrations commissioned to me by book publishers, manufacturers, municipalities, evangelists, universities, doctors, hospitals, advertising agencies, non-profit groups, law firms, realtors, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, architectural firms, food processors, and the United States Military.
