Bio

I am Daniel DiGangi. I have been designing for a little over 4 years now. I started as much more of an artist then a designer. My first types of work I created were textures for computer games. I also began basic coding which definitely has paved my path for my understanding of languages such as HTML, CSS, and actionscript. I began to move into Photoshop when MS Paint's pixel by pixel texture painting just wasn't cutting it for me. Once I got onto Photoshop, I was off like a race horse. I thrived on filters in my early stages of design. I used graphic forums as tools to increase my skills and learn about this world I was entering.

Many a time, I became frustrated with harsh critiques but I continued on. As I built my skills in Photoshop as well as fundamental skills I crash landed into another side of this world. I found Deviant Art. The single largest art and design website and forum in the world. From here I began to experience the more artistic side of things as well catching a glimpse of design at its best.

I needed to branch out from what I was doing so I started to toy with programs such as Illustrator and Cinema 4D, where I could fuse vector and 3D styles of work into my current 2D Photoshop work. I began learning the programs in the same basic ways and kept practicing and producing pieces of art for the world to see. Really I continued this path for quite some time until I pushed my final final before actual schooling started. I came upon the site Evoke (http://www.evokeone.com). A digital art group producing packs of art work revolving around a theme. This pushed my threshold as an artist.

From that stage in my life I finally moved into school. I currently attend the IL Institute of Art in Schaumburg, IL. I am working towards a double major and I bit more then half way with my first degree. My first degree is Web/Interactive Media Design and my second is Visual Effects/Motion Graphics. I also freelance as a designer for any area in need of work.
