Bio

Wordsworth and More is operated by John Hood-Fysh. John began his technical writing career in Canada in 1993 by developing a software reference manual, user guide, quick start guide, and help systems for a real estate based software application. The developer reported that his end-user support and training requirements were reduced by 50 percent.

After developing similar systems for three other applications, including one for Fisheries and Oceans Canada, John was approached to convert a set of paper based policy and procedure manuals into an electronic format. Using innovation and state of the art software tools, he converted policy and procedure manuals into an electronic format, and then provided training for the department staff to maintain the converted files.

Later, when the same government agency converted to a Lan based e-mail system, John was asked to write a combined training manual and user reference guide for the software. John also provided usability evaluation of use of the training manual to fine tune the training.

As the web became more popular, John expanded his services to include custom website design. Most web designs done by him were completed after 1999.
