Bio

tann|design is me, Tannie Smith, a freelance designer and illustrator in Austin, Texas. or Cedar Park if you want to be technical. I Specialize in logos, corporate identification, and illustration; or anything else you can think of.
I graduated from Texas State University in 2004, with a degree in Communication Design. Texas State is the number one school for design here in the Southwest and I am proud to be one of there alumni. My work has been seen in CMYK magazine and I was awarded a Silver in The Houston Show for my Paris Air Show poster.
I chose to work freelance because I wanted to spend as much time as possible with my two beautiful boys, Austin (3) and Logan (9 Months). It is the best part about working freelance.
One of the things I am known for in my design is a clean, finished look. I take a lot of care in the details and really make sure everything is just right. A logo is more than a picture, it represents an entire philosophy of a company. It is the first "feel" a consumer gets. So it should be the best.
I love Logo work because it is exciting to watch a company start with a fresh image and help it grow. I love the relationship with the client that is built through the logo process. It then makes the application of the logo to other materials, such as business cards, letterhead and advertising even more exciting.
Of course I do a lot more than just logo work. I am up for any challenge and even do illustration. I began school as a fine art major, so any chance to use those skills is wonderful. Thank you for considering me and feel free to view a lot more examples of my work on my website. www.tanndesign.com
