If you’re looking to add more storage to your Dropbox account, the popular cloud site recently announced that it will soon be upgrading its Pro user accounts. Pro users with the existing 50GB and 100GB will get their storage space doubled to 100 and 200 gigabytes respectively. Millions of users rely on Dropbox’s free plan offering, but Dropbox says that many Pro users have been requesting more storage space.
With both the free and paid storage accounts, a Dropbox mobile app will automatically upload photos from your camera-supported mobile devices to a designated folder in your account. You can set up your desktop client to do the same thing with new photos. This type of service is powerfully useful but it can lead users needing lots more space if their photos and other data are archived on Dropbox.

The new Pro upgrade plans will be $9.99/month or $99.00/year for 100 GB of storage, and $19.99/month or $199.00/year for 200 GB. A free plan starts registered users off at 2 GB of storage, but they can get up to 18 GB for getting friends to sign up (2 GB + 500 MB per referral). Users can also get an extra 500MB of space for every 500 MB of photo uploads (up to 3 GB).
Dropbox works like the documents folder on your computer. It allows you to store files on the Dropbox server. You can retrieve or add data online via any Wi-Fi-connected computer, or directly with a cross-platform Dropbox application or mobile client for the iPhone, iPad, Android or Blackberry.
